Experiential Learning

A conference activity that challenges high performance team work.

Using Fosmire’s and Hosford’s Leadout® we will facilitate an interactive learning activity that gives participants insights into contemporary management theories and practice through challenge and involvement.

‘The session was awesome!! Was very different to anything that any of us had done. I like how it keeps everyone involved all of the time. No boring bits at all.... people were going crazy and getting right into it!!’

How it works

This inspired simulation creates a powerful platform to explore a multitude of disciplines, personal challenges and skills in Leadership, Management and Teamwork.

Regional Teams

Set in the very engaging and realistic world of competing regional teams, you can expect high level involvement and loud celebrations as individual teams experience success under pressure.

This 3-4 hour simulation uses a business scenario that presents every challenge found in high performing work groups. Each participant receives part of the information needed to make sound decisions. They can share it, keep it to themselves, or give part of it away. Every move the individual makes affects the group and the final outcome.

The challenge is for the team to make quality decisions while confronting every-day organizational problems.

Each Team member receives their own specialist data sheet

Each member must memorise and then retrieve at the right time, their specialist information throughout the simulation.

  • Set their Regional goals inline with their corporate goals
  • Establish operating guidelines for the processes they will use to achieve the task
  • Establish a decision making process
  • Establish their plan for risk-taking and risk management
  • Establish their guidelines for resolving conflict
  • Establish how they will manage change if any of their strategies prove unproductive

Stretched to the limit

In Leadout® conflicts arise, managers are transferred just when team trust is at its highest, financial constraints must be considered and with the demand for quick decisions, team members skills are stretched to the limit.

Midway through the simulation teams are required to reflect on their performance, plan and then present their corrective action plan prior to its implementation.

As a result of these actions, participants experience a real-life team building activity. This does not stop them from having lots of fun.

The initial de-briefing process is run within each team where they record and summarise the discussion stimulated by key critique questions and then present back to the whole group their significant learning points. These learning points can then be further reinforced with a facilitated whole group discussion.
